Technical Specification :

The Power Transistors and GTO Thyristor circuit board allows
students to perform hands-on exercises that illustrate the functionality
of various self-commutated switching devices frequently
used in power electronics. This module incorporates six different
types of self-commutated switching devices:
MOSFET
Isolated-Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT)
Fast IGBT
Bipolar Transistor
Darlington Transistor
GTO Thyristor
Additionally, the trainer includes Driver and Load sections
designed to help students study the behavior of these switching
devices. The Driver section consists of an opto-isolator and a
driver for power transistors. The Load section comprises resistive
and inductive components along with general-purpose, fast, and
ultra-fast free-wheeling diodes.

Using this training module, students can explore the operation
of power transistors and GTO thyristors.
They can observe critical characteristics such as switching
behavior, conduction voltage drops, and associated losses for
each switching device.
Furthermore, students learn how to appropriately match
free-wheeling diodes with various switching devices.
