The Automatics Smart Factory :
should allow students to get experience of a
number of processes and technologies that are
commonly used in manufacturing and mod-
ern-day Industry 4.0 principles. This should
include conveyor systems, sensing systems,
pneumatic pick and place technology, DC
motor drives, and stepper motor drives.
The factory should include a number of
colored discs made from plastic and other
materials. A conveyor belt moves these pieces
into the factory, where user programmed
sensors sort the discs into multiple rejection
bins.
Some are picked the conveyor by a suction
device and a stepper motor-controlled gantry
sorts the discs into appropriately colored
containers.
The smart factory should be completely self-
contained.
The smart factory can be used with PLC and
should also be compatible with Add-on. Robot
Arm Integration.
The Smart Factory should be compatible with
the All Code robot arm production cell. This
robot arm can be added to provide the Industry
4.0 learning solution that acts in the same way
as an industrial robot.
The robot arm production cell consists of a
rugged stepper motor controlled 3 degrees of
freedom arm bolted to a base plate and
supplied with activity mat that provides a range
of exercises to replicate an Industrial robot arm.
The free instructional guide includes worksheets
in pendant, G code, API and microcontroller
programming, sensors and actuators, kinematics and more.

Compressor :
This desk mounted compressor an oil-less piston compressor, with a small electric 1/8HP motor that should be designed to operate on the Automatics platform.
It’s powerful, compact, reliable and quiet.
It include a dial showing the pressure in the output pipe (0 to 100psi), an on/off switch and air outlet switch and an air pressure adjustment knob.
The unit should be powered from 240V. Smart Software:
The Smart Factory should be controlled in one of two ways.
Either opt to control using supplied PLC with HMI Unit, supplied PLC with HMI Unit, which will be educational PLC’s and perfect for the students to understand the capabilities and possibilities of industrial smart factories.
Alternatively, add-on for the smart Factory, gives students the ability to program the system using an industrial grade PLC.
This should be provided on a DINrail bracket with adaptor modules.
